The curiosity for rhythmic ideas and for musical balance connects Mai Linh (voc) and Lucas Etcheverria (git) in their duo "Gidam". A name, that reflects the intersection of Portuguese and Vietnamese languages. The two young jazz musicians met in 2019 to study in Hamburg and have been exploring the vastness of their playing together since last year. On this evening, the duo will present their interpretation of well-known jazz standards and Brazilian music on Hamburg Stream. Combining a warm, mellow guitar playing and a gentle voice, embracing the details, Gidam attempts to give a spark of hope for the present time. Mai Linh and Lucas are generously supported by the Oscar and Vera Ritter Foundation and the Lucia Thörl Foundation.
